The cabin's wood-paneled rooms had a dark and cramped feeling. Designers painted the walls white to brighten up the space. To show off the rich natural tones of California redwood, the ceilings were left exposed. The living room has a rustic, slightly rustic look thanks to the wooden beams and cowhide ottoman. Two walls are full of windows that let in sunlight. The simple living area features a white color scheme with light wood accents. The fireplace is accented with a Southwestern wall hanging.
Often, one textile is the only element needed to give a space of Wild West touch. Owner and designer Sarah Wittenbraker kept her kitchen clean, white and fairly minimalistic — except for that vibrant, graphic rug.
